Rye told Cuz

So Cuz tried it, then they both told me. Rye and Cuz, now, both swear that filling a few baggies with water and hanging them high above the pen keeps the flies down because they (the flies) think that the baggies are hornet nests. I don’t know if it will work or not, but I’ll give it a try.

I use the expensive flea drops from the Vet on the “girls” and spray the pen, houses and underneath with High Yield pesticide. I, also, pick up the feces every day, putting them in a sealed container and have fly strips hanging around the pen.

By the way, I plan to run the “girls” in the morning

I stopped by Doc Caldwell’s Vets office

on the way back from running the girls down in Seale. Yes, I know I owe you. How many missed post does this make?
3?
Well, since I’m leaving for Apalachicola the first thing in the morning, it’s doubtful if you’ll get it before next Saturday’s race.

Anyway, Dixie still has that nagging cough. She sounds like a three pack a day smoker. Still runs good though and except for some congestion in the lungs, the heart sounds fine. Yes, she gets a heart worm pill monthly.

They changed her pills to ciprofloxacin twice a day.

The Tilley

has become the hat
of choice for outside work and activities this summer. I know I bought a Bailey to be Summer hat 06, but it just looked to good and I have real doubts about it’s ability to stand up to our mid East Alabama summer weather. The Tilley (like the one I got 2), a LT6,on the other hand comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Guaranteed for life
Insured against loss
Excellent sun protection
Repels rain
Ties on in the wind
Machine washable (won't shrink)
And a whole host of other reasons to buy one.

While I might not ever be able to compete with the elephant trainer who had to dig his hat out of a nice steaming pile after it was snatched off and ate, not once, not twice but thrice, I‘m sure I won‘t shame my fellow Alabamians. It just might take a while.

As for my other straw hats

Heart worm pills

all around for the girls today

I'm fixing to give

the Ladies a bath. Shame no one is here to take pictures.
I'll just bill Brag for his share of the bath

Dixie’s

soft cough has returned. I called Doc Caldwell yesterday and then went by and picked up some Tribrissen 480 500 antibiotics for her.

She is such a finicky eater, always thoroughly checking out the stray piece of food before eating it. You can imagine what she thinks about me cramming a pill down her throat with my finger.
Say’s she doesn’t like it at all because she doesn’t know where that finger has been.

Anyway, two pills a day for the next nine days.
And yes, I did run the dogs on Saturday.
I'll try to get a post up in a day or so.

You got to be kidding me

If I'm not thrilled eating with your kids, what makes you think I'd be happy eating with your dogs.
Besides, I could just see me taking the "Girls" into Applebee's.
