Dixie And Maizie
are back in the pen, probably telling all kind of lies to Lucy and Julie. Well, we know who gets to wear
the best dog collars next trip don't we?
Lucy and Maizie.
Julie got the treatment last trip as did Lucy, but I want to fortify the experience with Lucy. Julie isn't to bad about deer though she will if you let up on her.
I've had to explain to Brag the rules of ownership...again. You'd think that after three years of joint ownership, he'd know
They are his dogs when they run trash, mine when they run rabbits and ours when it comes to the vet bills.
Another thing is these rabbit dogs of Brag have absolutely no sense of direction.
We turned them out in Pittsview near where they're four laneing the road to Panama City. Collarless, Maizie, who hates long runs, and Dixie, who knows what the best dog collar is for, turned up near Hatchachubbee. They took off on the second race, the first being a coyote, Thursday morning and I picked them up at halftime of the Auburn game today. I don't know whether to tell Brag or let him read it since he was gone on a business trip.
At djmeds near Auburn, we found Dixie after a few days, hanging out at the Trent Jones golf course clubhouse. At least she's got taste.
We turned them out one time at Green Fields in Pittsview and found Julie near Seale.
We run them regular at Seale and they repeatedly turned up at the church on 39. They would be setting on the top steps, probably trying to get in to pray I wasn't going to kick their collective butts for running trash.

Hi Tiny, it’s Rimfire.
Couple of quick notes
And a question from Brag.
Lucy got sick again (3), spaced out 4-6 weeks. Vet did blood work this time. Gave her a shot and she was good to go by the next morning.
Strange.
Lucy really did good today though she stayed around me for the first three races. I ran the dogs by myself. Had five really good races. Bucks that ran a long way but I saw all five. Don’t you love a day where everything goes right? lol. Now if it would happen with witnesses and a pocketful of shells.
Shot one to let Lucy get a smell. She approved.
She led Dixie to the next to last rabbit. We were back on that last firebreak where I tilled around the pine, walking up the break toward the pathfinder when Lucy’s head snapped down. She took off barking, running, nose parallel to the ground, down the firebreak before she hooked left. Dixie ran up to see what was going on and as quick as Dixie got there she started barking. Lucy ran with the pack the whole length of that bottom and halfway back again, puppy bark just agoing, before she saw me and came running to see what I was doing.
They jumped again on the way out. I was going to just stay the morning but it was almost 3:30 before I got to the vets office to find out that the results weren't back.
Brag was wanting to know if he could run the front on Saturday? We know it’s opening day for bow season in Alabama. I’m going to be on a stand back near my tent or that last bottom till 10-10:30, depending on the deer and my shooting.
I couldn’t think of anybody that bow hunts up front. Anyway, give me a holler and let me know.
