The Rabbit Journal Tales

Since I still get a case of the

heebie jeebies when I think of that timber rattler, I'll link to a couple of posts that I did on first aid kits.

Being prepared can save you a dog or a partner

Your say

Here are a couple things I use for snake bites for the hounds.(1)Rattlesnake shot given by my vet once a year to help the immune system aid in a quick and less painful recovery from a snake bite.(2)I always carry a bottle of Dexamethazone with me to give the dog a shot in case they get bit it helps to keep the body from having an allergic reaction.(3) Give them some benedryl also.As for me a pair of snake boots and chaps along with my pistol!

My current snake medicine is a .38 S&W Airweight loaded with shotshells.

Yep, I usually have my snake chaps and most of a bottle of insect repellent.

I'll check with Doc Caldwell about the shots. How much do they cost you

My vet gives me a good deal on them at $10 a shot. For those who want to get them and your vet does not carry them your vet can order the shots from:
