The Rabbit Journal Tales

Not to bad

Brag and I met Tiny, camp cook and supervisor of the Teats, at Seale near daylight. We ran the area near one of the Florida boys deer stands.Brag and Tiny
Three decent races.
First was a warm up race that both Tiny and Brag saw.
Second was a tiny fist sized rabbit that ran in tight circles in a house sized patch of blackberry bushes before he lost the hounds on the multiple trails he ran.
Then Lucy struck off by herself, her voice calling for help, but the Aunties weren’t having any part of it.
Why?
I don’t have a clue. She ran for almost an hour in the same thick patch. The other girls went with her at first, before breaking off and coming back. It wasn’t a deer, but I never saw what it was. Mystery followed me back to Lucy and she went in her direction (only a matter of a few yards from me to her in that thicket) but never opened up.

Meanwhile, the other girls jumped a almost grown rabbit that they ran for over an hour and a half.

Lucy still wouldn’t break off till she completely lost the trail of whatever she was running. I heard Mystery shortly after the other girls opened up, running with the pack.

Your say

Sounds like you had a good time. Those little rabbits are tough in this weather, but if they can run them now they will burn them up come hunting season.Did you get a pup yet? I kept one female from my litter.I felt compeled to name her after Paris Hilton, from now on she is Sassy in the high court.Until next time keepum running.

No pup yet.
We're bumping the age up a little since it's getting late. A year or younger, say to about six months though we're still open to a puppy

I forgot to tell you,we killed a 44 inch copperhead. We found the snake on a old supply road,an Tim cut it up with a hoe. Be careful this dry weather has them moving!

Ever since the "girls" and I ran into our second timber rattler, I wear the snake chaps almost all the time.
I know it's not 100% since I wear tenny's, but it helps keep gf off my back
