The Rabbit Journal Tales

I try to keep the “Girls”

comfortable in the pen.
dog pen
Fly strips, hornet nests, two sources of water, automatic feeder, waste can with a cover, rake and shovel and a pair of
boots
I “feed” the girls a can of soft food every evening after cleaning the pen. The evening visit helps in bonding and gives the girls some entertainment. I haven’t had any trouble with them digging out though they do a lot of random digging.

I dump the water in one pan into my garden. The other I pour into the first pan. I think they call it “oxygenating” the water. I call it to lazy to tote both containers from the tap.

The fly strips and “hornet nests” are only part of my pest control regime. A trash bag lined container with a top, cedar shavings as bedding material and Hi-Yield. I mix the Hi-Yield and spray it every Saturday morning after loading the dogs for our weekly pre-season exercise. Both houses, inside and underneath ( They have dug out a chamber over the years. Probably to escape the summer heat), the oak tree branches that cover a good ¾ of the pen and the ground itself.

The rubber over boots are a good piece of equipment to have. I picked up their use from Uncle NoPass. They are soft and flexible with virtually no tread for any dog crap to stick to. GF and her carpets deeply appreciate their use
